Walking from Beer to Sidmouth this past Tuesday and Wednesday while enjoying and contemplating the landscape, the mind-boggling weather and inspiring talks by among others Professor Tim Lenton, Professor of Climate Change, Earth System Science, at the University of Exeter; Tom Powell, Researcher, Land Use/Earth Systems Interactions, University of Exeter and Dr Ceri Lewis, Marine Biologist, University of Exeter (photo), Anne-Marie CULHANE‘s Earthwalking event has clearly been a success with about thirty participants. An experience to treasure and which will hopefully lead to more of these walks and gatherings.

Anne-Marie CULHANE takes part in the exhibition Soil Culture at create in Bristol, Green Capital of Europe, that is opened this Saturday by Alys FOWLER. The exhibition is a summer celebration of 2015 UN International Year of Soils. Since last summer, the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World (CCANW) has supported twelve artist residencies with different hosts across the South West and at the Royal Botanic Gardens. On 14 and 15 July Anne-Marie CULHANE devises the event Earthwalking, a two-day journey walking the East-Devon Coast. This event is part of an Exeter Enquires residency co-ordinated by Arts & Culture at Exeter University and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. For this residency Anne-Marie Culhane has been working with Tim Lenton (Professor of Climate Change), Dr.Luke Mander and Tom Powell in Earth System Science at the University of Exeter.
