As part of this year’s conference Telling and showing the invisible (Raconter et montrer l’invisible) directed by Julie Anselmini, Yann Calvet and José Moure, Jean-Louis Vincendeau not only contributes with a lecture, but was also invited to show his work at the international cultural center of Cerisy.
Calling his exhibition Légers deploiements (Light deployments), his work typically exists out of small poetic assemblages, existing only temporarily, photographed and published on social media.

In the accompanying publication Paroles d’ami(e)s
Le ciel s’éclaircit (Words from friends – The sky is clearing), published under the pseudonym Henri Mérey, he writes about these:
Small theatres of objects or theatres of small objects, these little things, abandoned or found, find a new ground, a new site, and then unfold or radiate far beyond themselves. For a twig to look like a tree, it has to be placed in the right place in the right light.
At the turn of an association of ideas, according to the confrontations of chance and coincidence, a small sliver of abyss torn from nothingness is discovered in the first person singular and embarks the narrative towards new adventures.
A human shelter, small scenographies born of encounters with objects and images, natural curiosities and hidden sources of nature more or less domesticated in its hermetic formations. The aim, however, is to move an object around in a specially prepared setting, bringing it to life and enchanting it.
