Of 2025, the Year of the Snake, it is said that “Just as snakes shed their skin and grow, the Snake year is imbued with the symbolism of “rebirth and renewal.” It is seen as a turning point, encouraging people to embrace change and embark on new challenges with positivity.
Shedding my skin once more and growing into another shape, although remaining active as a curator, I’ve decided to end Bureau Doove in its current form and transform it into a new initiative that I’m very excited about. Quite symbolically, I will introduce this for the new Chinese year, the Year of the Fire Horse, associated with energy, ambition, perseverance and forward momentum, on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.
The Bureau Doove site will remain, for the time being, an archive of projects. The launch of the project Covers for the World runs until 31.03.26 in Moshi, Tanzania.
More news and a link to the new initiative will be posted closer to the launch date.
In the meantime, I wish you all a vibrant and daring 2026.
Much love,
Edith
