The new year starts good with the release of Feldman and Hume: Intermissions by Guy Vandromme on piano and Luciana Elizondo on viola da gamba.
The 24 pieces alternate work by Morton Feldman (1926-87) and Thomas Hume (1569-1645) thus revealing the unexpected connections between contemporary and late renaissance music that are typical for Vandromme’s unique approach. Recorded in October 2024, the full release will be on the 10th of January by Sawyer Editions.
“extremely soft; very slow; with a minimum attack; soft; very soft; slowly and quietly; as soft as possible”
– Musical indications in the work of Morton Feldman
Composer, field recorder & sound designer Fabio Gionfrida succeeds in building an echo chamber or a resounding echo system in which the listener moves unnoticed between an urban environment, the ambient noise of the Palazzo Fodri, where the recording was made and the pure poetic silence that arises in the work of Tobias Hume and Morton Feldman.
Pre-order the digital recording for $10 or the CD for $13 now on Bandcamp where three pieces can already be listened to.
