Sometimes it’s just important to post a beautiful story. This is the one about the foster daughter of Pierre Mertens and his wife, Mol. Apart from being a truly remarkable personality, Shana is also a great artist and actress, as I had the pleasure of witnessing.
Pierre Mertens’ article for The Checkup not only gives excellent insight into what we can learn from people with Down syndrome – authenticity, serenity, presence and an unconditional, unfiltered love. It’s also a precursor to his new publication Bare Together, which describes his journey as an art activist and which we will present soon.
