The 4th edition of the Talklang Art & Music Festival in Sand in Taufers-Tyrol will take place from 3 to 6 October 2024.
Under artistic direction by Guy Vandromme and Maria Craffonara, the festival is set in several locations in and around Sand in Taufers. TalKlang, literally “sound of the valley”, wants to enter into dialogue with nature, to bring music to unexpected places, equip every breath of air with good sound. Whether from strings, keys, buttons or the voices of musicians and artists from home and abroad. In the chapels of the valley, in bare factory halls, in timber-framed barns, silence gains space. This silence, the perfection of nature, but also the exceptional nature of the places and spaces are the allies of the festival, spaces of experience, temples of sound. And rich sources of strength.
The festival therefore sets off on Thursday 3 October in the afternoon with a 2 hour walk along the Annaweg with musical interventions by Maria Craffonara. The official opening later that day is a combination of a concert and a participative live installation. In the Moritzner church an organ invites you to sound creation: everyone can/is allowed to compose. At the touch of a button, the sound sequence changes and becomes a new, exciting melody – during the four the four days of the festival. The installation is a concept by Eva-Maria Houben and Guy Vandromme with vocals & violin by Maria Craffonara ; viola da Gamba by Luciana Elizondo and vocals by Maja Jantar.
The festival continues with walks, workshops and music to enhance a conscious listening of sounds and sound colours of nature. In a combination of tense hearing and seeing, relaxed movement and exciting silence in a green valley.
Tickets for the full 4 day festival cost € 180.00. A small festival ticket for two day or evening events is available at € 85.00. All events can also be booked separately, but places are limited.
